With 400 millions active users, it seems everybody does and anyone potentially can. 1 in 10 earns money with their pictures. Instagram has changed the game for all fashion-obsessed gals (or guys, no discriminations here).
This is not what this post is about.
It’s about my dream of becoming a personal stylist and shopper.
My friends, former managers and co-workers have been pushing me for years to use my vast knowledge of fashion and my talent for advising customers for something more than retail. Then this fall, I had the chance to style a photo shoot and a runway show for the boutique I work at. I finally realized that my dream could be a reality. The first step, I figured was Instagram since it is the social media for fashion. Until this past summer, I was a very infrequent user, posting only when I remembered about my account (pretty much like this blog). I started a style diary to build a portfolio. The few likes, new followers and comments encouraged me to keep posting. Earlier this month, I took another step and followed the advices found on internet to get more followers. Guess what, they really work! They increased fivefold. It’s very exciting and rewarding to get likes and comments from users whose followers are in the thousands, and even better when they start following.
Everyday, I get closer to realizing my dream. And you know what, if it doesn’t happen now at least I can say I tried.
